Frequent Comments and Questions

YOUR POETRY TALKS ABOUT THINGS LIKE DISNEY AND LEGOS, AND IT DOESN'T RHYME. IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE REAL POETRY.

Poetry can be about anything, and it doesn't have to rhyme.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A LIVING WRITING POETRY?

I don't. I have a day job in the technology industry.

I HATED READING POEMS IN SCHOOL. I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THEM.

I'm sorry you had bad experiences with poetry. I'm sorry you were forced to analyze poems, write about them, or be tested on them.

ARE POEMS ALWAYS ABOUT A POET'S LIFE?

No, poems can be fiction. A poem is not a journal entry.

WHY DO YOU WRITE POEMS ABOUT WOMEN AND GIRLS?

One of my continuing missions is to share the stories of girls and women as they navigate technology, patriarchy, organized religion, and pop culture. Good and bad, the rights and the wrongs, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, our stories must be shared with the world in order to help transform the world.

WHAT IS INTUITVE POETRY?

I'm still figuring out the answer to that myself. I think it's when a poet uses psychic modalities, or what you could also call psychic intuition, to catch a poem that drops out of the universe already composed, perhaps getting images, emotions, or words from a past or future life, or from senses beyond the usual five, or from someone who is not fully in the physical realm.

WHAT IS INTUITRY?

Stacy's word for intuitive poetry.

I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.

Thank you! I will pray for you, too!
